When I have art shows, I like to make them experiential as much as I can. For this particular show, my paintings had themes of guns, militaria, war — but in a whimsical sorta way. If that sounds weird, think of a cop car with pink donut frosting and sprinkles on top. Oh, and I had 200 donuts at the show. In addition to that, I had a dress made of military camo, which I applied “U.S.” gold insignia pins to and dressed a fairly rough-looking mannequin in. I bought plastic waterguns from the 99¢ store and spray painted them bright pink and used them not only as her “weapon,” but as a display behind her.
