To go along with the rebrand (more here, here, and here) of Orchids & Onions, I wanted to create a branded environment for the event. O&O is an architectural awards gala highlighting the best and worst in the built environment. I enlisted the help of interior designers Bells & Whistles and the artistic botanical sculptures of tend, to create a space (on a tight budget) in the Horton Plaza Mall that felt architectural, otherworldly, and fun. We had to be VERY resourceful, and so used every inch of extra material we could. I found a mannequin -it was a mall, after all- and dressed her up, using her as part of the display by draping her in some custom branded jewelry I made. Laser cutters are awesome. AND I laid 60 ft. of adhesive vinyl to the floor all by myself. Sadly, people walked all over it, but it was a great thigh workout, anyway.
